Cakes in Bloom is committed to providing luxury wedding cakes with elegant design for special celebrations in Chichester and the South East.

Giulia O'Lorey started baking professionally in 2014, after completing a diploma in patisserie and confectionary in London in 2013. Her first professional kitchen position was for the Dorchester Collection, and from there she has invested her time to work with some of the best pastry chefs in the world. 

In 2016, Giulia discovered her love for weddings and celebrations. From there, Cakes in Bloom was born, with the aim to bring her dedication and attention to detail to couples in love looking for that extra touch to build the timeless centrepiece for their special day. She is now the recommended wedding cake maker for several venues in Sussex and beyond.


Our Ethos

Cakes in Bloom is committed to providing delicious cakes with elegant design for special celebrations in Chichester and the South East. However, we do not believe that this means our cakes can't be sustainably made. 

Undoubtedly, it is challenging to remove waste completely from bespoke products, but we have taken several steps to ensure we minimise our impact:

- The energy used is provided by Green Network Energy

- The recipes are all scaled to size, to ensure no cake goes to waste. We also partner with St Wilfred's Hospice to ensure that any waste is distributed to their offices.

- As much as possible, our packaging is made in the UK, with Kraft paper. Our acetate is made by NatureFlex and is compostable in 80 days. Our ribbons are made from recycled ocean plastic. Everything is high quality, but this should not mean that it is wasteful.

- From 2022 we will no longer be offering polystyrene tiers for our wedding clients, due to the significant impact of polystyrene on the environment.
