I love this time of year, when it's totally acceptable to spend every evening on the sofa with a Christmas movie and a blanket. And after last year, where many of us didn't get to enjoy our usual holiday traditions, I felt that it was even more important to make sure that the festive offerings at Cakes in Bloom were extra cheery.
The Christmas Range will be available exclusively for preorder, with two Chichester market dates where you will be able to grab some in person. You will also be able to Pre-Order them with Paulo at Draper's Yard .
Pre-ordered cakes and wreaths will then be delivered straight to you in Sussex and Hampshire on the 21st and 22nd December, ready for the bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately the wreaths and cakes cannot be posted safely, but the hot chocolate bombs are coming back, so I look forward to seeing where they end up this year. They were a huge success last year and will be making their seasonal reappearance at YUM Saturday throughout December.
1. Christmas Cakes
These will only be available as a 6" cake this year. They feed up to 12 people, and are the perfect ending to any Christmas roast.
Boozy and delicious, covered in both marzipan and fondant, they're sure to be crowdpleasers.
A variety of designs will be made, similar to the holly design below.
You can Pre-Order yours from now until 10th December. A limited number will be made.
2. Gingerbread Wreaths - available in vegan version
Maybe Christmas Cake isn't your thing. Maybe you think it's a bit old fashioned. Maybe you don't think you'll ever find one as good as your nan's.
For you, I have made gingerbread wreaths this year.
This soft gingerbread iced with sugar paste and tied with gorgeous festive ribbon will come in 8" size only, suitable to feed 8.
Available to pre-order, these are also available in a vegan version, for the plant-based person in your life.
This gingerbread is soft, spicy, and perfect for dunking. Imagine sharing this out on the sofa with a cuppa and Love Actually. Now that sounds like Christmas.
3. Hot Chocolate Bombs
These were incredibly popular last year. So much so that they've had a festive makeover!
Last year, we only did them in dark chocolate, as figurines. These were adorable, and great for families, and they will be back this year too.
But this year, the RED&GREEN collection is here.
The RED&GREEN chocolate bombs are filled with the same delicious hot chocolate mix, and accompanied by marshmallows. However, they are made with indulgent Belgian white chocolate as well as dark chocolate. They're therefore a little sweeter, and very very cheery.
Like last year, these are available to order individually or in bundles of 3, in either the Festive Figurines or the Red & Green collections. Unfortunately they are not mix-and-match , so if you would like to pick your colour or figure you should come visit us at the Sussex Makers & Merchants market.
And that's it for the new Christmas Collection. If you visit us at any upcoming events there might be some limited edition products (like gingerbread men or fudge) but these will be exclusive to in-person events.
